Laptop Shuts Down When Lid Is Closed
When closing the laptop lid, it is expected that ChromeOS goes into sleep mode. Instead, it entirely shuts down the computer as if I clicked the 'power' button. Laptop shuts down when lid is closed. Yesterday I clean installed windows 10 onto my laptop (Asus GL551 Series GL551JM-DH71) to hopefully fix this very problem, but it still persists and is even worse now. When I close the lid, regardless of any advanced power settings telling it to do nothing, hibernate, sleep, etc, it will shut down. If the issue is not resolved, then restart the system and press f2 key to enter BIOS - close the lid and open again and check if the system shuts down or if it stays on while in the BIOS mode. Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics.

My issue can be, whenever I close the lid ón my Iaptop, it sleeps usually for maybe a minute, after that it will close down and when I change it back on, it will say 'windows did not really shut down properly' and display the regular boot choices. In windows power choices, I have the shut lid motion set to 'perform nothing at all' for both on battery power and connected in, but it will still rest/shut down when I shut the lid.I think this might have got something to do with my battery pack recently passing away. The laptop doesn'capital t even change on when the battery pack can be in (plugged in or not), so in purchase to keep the laptop on, it provides to be constantly plugged in to the wall. Any understanding on what the issue/possible solution is? Don't really want to purchase a fresh electric battery atm, since the OEM types are $150.
